Do You Always Have To Put Your Nest Of Tables On Show?

Thursday January 7, 2010

If you have a nest of tables the chances are you have them in prime position somewhere in your home. You might have them positioned all together, or they could be spread around the room – all used for separate purposes.

But you don’t necessarily have to use them in this way. If you are thinking of buying a new set for very occasional use (think of a place to put dips and nibbles at parties for example), you could save money and get something to store instead. Nests of tables vary a lot in price and it is perfectly possible to pick up a very basic set in wood effect or perhaps even glass for less than twenty or thirty pounds.

Buying something basic has the advantage of giving you more choice. For example let’s suppose your living room is furnished with real wooden furniture. A nest of tables to match might set you back a hundred pounds or maybe even more. Some nests cost upwards of £250, and when you only want a nest of tables to use now and again instead of keeping them out all the time, saving money will be a priority.

If you make room to store them somewhere out of sight you can buy something much cheaper and not have to worry about matching it up exactly with what you have at the moment. You may want to cover the tables with a cloth when you use them anyway, making it even less obvious that they are a bit different.

A nest of tables is also built to be stored away easily. If you have a spare room or space under the stairs you can stack them all together and pop them inside easily. You could even store things underneath them and on top, so they actually take up even less space than you might think.

As you can see it pays to think about how you will use your nest of tables before you go ahead and buy it. You might not have to spend as much as you think to get the item you really want, and yet it can still fulfil your needs. The basic rule is as always to shop around and make sure you get the best deal you can. Watch out for sales too – even cheap sets can be reduced in price.
